What is a personal retreat at KMEC?
A personal retreat is an accommodation stay with intentional time for your own practice; it is not automatically a taught or scheduled program. Some guests meditate, write, rest, practice yoga, or combine quiet mornings with time in Lower Puna.
Can I use the Meditation Pavilion and Yoga Hale?
A public page does not guarantee access to either space. Contact KMEC before booking when a particular room, time, equipment setup, or uninterrupted practice window is essential to your stay.
What should I bring?
Prepare for warm tropical weather, rain, rural roads, and simple living. Comfortable layers, rain protection, sturdy footwear, a reusable water bottle, insect protection, and anything essential to your personal practice will make the stay easier.
How do I build a useful retreat rhythm?
Keep the plan spacious. Set a realistic intention, protect a few quiet periods, leave room for meals and rest, and respect shared-space guidelines. KMEC offers a setting for practice without promising a particular spiritual or health outcome.
